Physical Properties: 1-propanol is a byproduct of the synthesis of methanol from carbon monoxide and hydrogen. At room temperature and pressure, it is a colorless and transparent liquid with a fragrant aroma; Irritating to the eyes and mucous membranes, inhaling propanol vapor can cause dizziness, headache, vomiting, etc.
Applications: 1-propanol is a good solvent that can be used directly or through the synthesis of propyl acetate in fields such as coatings, printing inks, and daily chemical products. Using n-propanol as raw material, n-propylamine, propyl acetate, propyl urea, 2-methyl-2-pentanol, n-bromopropane, perfluoropropionic acid, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, and propyl nipagin can be synthesized.
